PM Modi recalls contribution made by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar to the formulation of our Labour Laws

At the inauguration of ESIC Medical College and Hospital Building in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, PM Narendra Modi said that he was encouraged to work more for welfare of the workforce of India and strive towards making the country a better work place for all. Shri Modi mentioned that the government was committed to the development of a generous and comprehensive social safety net for all workers. ‘Swasth and Samridh Shramik will make a Samridh Rashtra’, the PM added. 

The PM stated that he strongly believed in the improvement of public service delivery standards and in keeping the same in mind, several initiatives had been started to improve the quality of service delivery in ESI hospitals. He also said that the Union Government had taken a number of path-breaking steps for the welfare of workforce of our country.

PM Modi also recalled the contribution made by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar to the formulation of our Labour Laws.

PM Modi visits the Indian Arrival Monument

Prime Minister visited the Indian Arrival monument at Monument Gardens in Georgetown today. He was accompanied by PM of Guyana Brig (Retd) Mark Phillips. An ensemble of Tassa Drums welcomed Prime Minister as he paid floral tribute at the Arrival Monument. Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. He planted a Bel Patra sapling at the monument.

The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
