Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed BJP karyakartas at the party headquarters in Delhi today. He said, “Even before Diwali, the way people of Haryana and Maharashtra have put their faith in BJP, I want to thank them from the core of my heart.”

Praising the CMs of Maharashtra and Haryana, PM Modi said, “Both Devendra Fadnavis and Manohar Lal Khattar were 1st time CMs. Despite that, both of them served the states well. I am convinced that under their leadership, Maharashtra and Haryana will scale new heights of developments in the time to come.”

“Before 2014, BJP was always a junior party of the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra. For 50 years, no CM was able to serve the people for a full five-year term. Devendra Fadnavis got the opportunity to serve for full five years. Maharashtra and especially Mumbai contribute immensely to the country’s economy. Political stability is important there,” he added furthermore.

“Now that you have given us the opportunity to serve you again, I would like to assure people of both states that we will work harder than before,” asserted PM Modi.

Prime Minister visited the Indian Arrival monument at Monument Gardens in Georgetown today. He was accompanied by PM of Guyana Brig (Retd) Mark Phillips. An ensemble of Tassa Drums welcomed Prime Minister as he paid floral tribute at the Arrival Monument. Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. He planted a Bel Patra sapling at the monument.

The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
