Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed his first rally in the state of Haryana. Speaking at a massive rally in Karnal, Shri Modi urged the people of Haryana to elect a strong BJP government in Haryana for the overall development of the state. “There must be a Congress Mukt Haryana, there must be a (BJP-led) stable Government and you must allow Modi to work for Haryana,” he affirmed. Shri Modi added that these elections are important, as they will determine Haryana’s future. “Allow me to repay your gratitude by giving a complete majority to the BJP,” he said.

The Prime Minister talked at length about the efforts taken by the Central Government for the farmers and the poor. He spoke about the PM Krishi Sinchai Yojana and the PM Jan Dhan Yojana. Shri Modi shared his vision for the development of farmers and said that it is the Government’s dream that no poor person or farmer should plead to Sahukars for money and that they must have access to proper banking facilities.

Shri Modi remarked that today the entire world is looking at India with respect and that is because the people of India have placed a stable Government at the Centre. He gave the example of the how the Government got another route for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra opened after discussions with China, thus enabling a lot more devotees to worship there.

Shri Modi took on the Congress government in Haryana, highlighting the lack of development in the state in various sectors. Giving a fitting reply to the lies spread by the Congress to Basmati farmers the PM pointed, “I am shocked. Is it necessary to lie? They did the same in Government too and the people know it very well. Farmers are being misled. They are saying GoI has stopped exports of Basmati rice abroad. This is a 100% lie. The truth is that a 4% tax has been put in Haryana by the State Government and this is causing troubles to farmers. Congress is giving trouble to farmers cultivating Basmati rice.” He also questioned the State Government on the farmer land being taken away.

The Prime Minister questioned why nothing was done about the Karnal Railway Station despite a former Railway Minister being an MP from Chandigarh.

He stated that Haryana has seen various Governments in the last 15 years and all of them have troubled the people. By voting for the BJP, this will stop and development will be given importance, he shared.

The top BJP leadership in Haryana, local candidates, senior leaders Shri Jagdish Mukhi, Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya and others were present on the occasion.
