On the afternoon of Sunday 30th November 2014 the Prime Minister addressed BJP workers at a programme in Guwahati, Assam. The Prime Minister affirmed that the Katyakartas’ strength is the strength of the BJP. He added that the BJP is what it is due to the hardwork and sweat of the countless Karyakartas.

Shri Modi pointed that the people of India have seen Governments run by the Congress, Left parties, regional parties and family run parties. At the same time they have seen the Governments run by BJP in the States and the Centre and they have seen the BJP ‘s commitment to development. “BJP dared to contest elections on the issue of development. It was a first. This is a big contribution of the BJP. BJP forced other parties to talk about development,” said the Prime Minister. He added, “I can say with confidence that BJP governments work with one issue, one Mantra and that is development.”

He said that the Government is committed to the development of Assam and to give jobs to the youth. “This is a Government committed to fulfilling the dreams of Assam,” affirmed the PM.

 The Prime Minister assured the people that there is no question of compromising with the safety of Assam and the Northeast. “The Government has changed in Delhi. They should know that we are here to serve Mother India. No such activity will be tolerated. And those who make this mistake, earlier they could be safe but now the law wont spare them” avowed the Prime Minister.

During his speech the PM urged the Karyakartas of Assam to work hard towards the membership drive, that has been initiated recently. Union Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, MP Smt. Bijoya Charabarty and other leaders were present during the rally.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
