On the evening of 20th April, Shri Narendra Modi addressed the fourth round of 3D rally across the Nation, and spoke of how the 2014 Elections was about punishing the betrayers of the democracy, and supporting a government that truly worked for the welfare of its people. Addressing a cross section of people at nearly 100 locations, Shri Modi also shared his idea of good governance which focused on inclusive development and empowerment for all.

Speaking on how the Congress had mislead the Nation by making false promises and wrong claims, Shri Modi stated that their assurance of eliminating poverty had fallen flat. “Do look back at the promises made by Congress. They said Jhuggi Jhopdis will be wiped out. But what has happened? Half the elections are over but they have not talked about their promise to remove Jhuggi Jhopdis. They are least bothered,” said Shri Modi.

He condemned the Congress’ approach of ignoring the welfare of the Nation and its people, and instead focusing on benefiting their own family members. He spoke of how the Congress’ ideology of seeing the Nation as just a piece of land, rather than as its ‘Motherland’, was a serious threat to the country and its people. “From Congress actions it seems India is not Matrubhumi but Matra Bhoomi (only a piece of land). For us India is Motherland but for you it is Mother's Land...you need to think beyond only Elections,” said Shri Modi.

Affirming the BJP’s focus of making an India where every person has a house and all basic facilities, by the year 2022 when India would celebrate its 75th year of Independence, Shri Modi emphasized on how the Party’s focus was on ‘Rashtraneeti’ and not ‘Raajneeti’. He also spoke of the BJP’s emphasis on ensuring the safety and security of its people, along with giving job opportunities to the youth. “Women empowerment and jobs to youth are a priority for us,” said Shri Modi, even as he called for the need to provide people with better opportunities of growth, especially for those in the agriculture sector.

Referring to Smt. Smriti Irani’s candidature from Amethi, Shri Modi said that the announcement of her contesting as the BJP candidate from Amethi had made the Congress speed up their act, as within a span of merely 10 days, the ‘Mother’ (Congress President) had to take charge and come forward to save her son. “Smriti Irani and BJP workers must be congratulated. Congress is scared now wondering if the Mother-Son will be in Parliament or not,” said Shri Modi.

He urged the people to support the BJP and enable the formation of a strong and stable government in Delhi. “India does not want leaders whose sole aim is to save their chairs. We now need a strong government,” said Shri Modi.

Shri Modi also spoke of the storm which hit Gujarat on the evening today, and stated that he had taken stock of the situation from interaction with the officers.

PM Modi to inaugurate ICA Global Cooperative Conference 2024 on 25th November
November 24, 2024
PM to launch UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025
Theme of the conference, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," aligns with the Indian Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate ICA Global Cooperative Conference 2024 and launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025 on 25th November at around 3 PM at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

ICA Global Cooperative Conference and ICA General Assembly is being organised in India for the first time in the 130 year long history of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), the premier body for the Global Cooperative movement. The Global Conference, hosted by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), in collaboration with ICA and Government of India, and Indian Cooperatives AMUL and KRIBHCO will be held from 25th to 30th November.

The theme of the conference, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," aligns with the Indian Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation). The event will feature discussions, panel sessions, and workshops, addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by cooperatives worldwide in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as poverty alleviation, gender equality, and sustainable economic growth.

Prime Minister will launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025, which will focus on the theme, “Cooperatives Build a Better World,” underscoring the transformative role cooperatives play in promoting social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development. The UN SDGs recognize cooperatives as crucial drivers of sustainable development, particularly in reducing inequality, promoting decent work, and alleviating poverty. The year 2025 will be a global initiative aimed at showcasing the power of cooperative enterprises in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.

Prime Minister will also launch a commemorative postal stamp, symbolising India’s commitment to the cooperative movement. The stamp showcases a lotus, symbolising peace, strength, resilience, and growth, reflecting the cooperative values of sustainability and community development. The five petals of the lotus represent the five elements of nature (Panchatatva), highlighting cooperatives' commitment to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The design also incorporates sectors like agriculture, dairy, fisheries, consumer cooperatives, and housing, with a drone symbolising the role of modern technology in agriculture.

Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bhutan His Excellency Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji His Excellency Manoa Kamikamica and around 3,000 delegates from over 100 countries will also be present.
