Japan’s former Prime Minister Yasuo Fukuda on visit to Gujarat

CM organizes a courtesy meet in his honour, accords warm welcome

Mr.Yasuo Fakuda attributes the rapid and stable development of Gujarat to the leadership of Narendra Modi

India and Japan together have a potential to make Asia a central authority in the global economy: CM

 

 

Welcoming the former Prime Minister of Japan Yasuo Fukuda in a courtesy meet held in his honour, Chief Minister Narendra Modi said the relation and business ties between Japan and Gujarat are expanding rapidly and the former Prime Minister’s Gujarat visit would strengthen it further.

In his speech Mr.Yasuo Fukuda thanked the state government for a warm welcome and pressed for the increasing partnership between Japan and Gujarat. He attributed the rapid and stable development of the state to the leadership of Mr Modi.

Praising Mr. Modi’s vision for expanding the ties between Gujarat and Japan, Mr.Yasuo said that Delhi Mumbai industrial corridor project would act as a partnership-bridge between two nations. Expressing his desire for the speedy completion of DMIC project he said that Japan India Parliamentary Friendship Association is also actively working in this direction. Mr. Katsuya Okada, President of this association, who is accompanying Mr.Yasuo in his visit, said he was impressed with the development that is taking place in Gujarat.

 

 

Talking about the business relationship between Japan and Gujarat, Chief Minister said that Japan’s becoming of partner in Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors’ meet has increased the level of trust among the businessmen of both the places. The scene is that every week Gujarat sees some business delegation from Japan visiting the state. The state government is also carefully planning a layout for the development projects with the Japanese companies.

Mr Modi said his dream of creating a mini Japan in Gujarat is getting actualized as Japan is developing eco townships at two places in Gujarat with the tie with JETRO.

India and Japan together have a potential to make Asia a central authority in the global economy and can influence the world politics, he said.

 

 

Chief Minister lauded the expanding ties between Japan and India especially the DMIC project that is being jointly developed by India and Japan. He also praised the Japanese embassy in India, office of consul general and JETRO for their proactive role in this direction.

Finance Minister Vajubhai Vala, Urban Development Minister Nitin Patel, Minister of State Saurabh Patel and senior officials were also present on the occasion.

Mr.Yasuo and Mr. Modi also had a 40-minute one-to-one meet in which they elaborately discussed about the partnership between Gujarat and Japan.
