Hon'ble CM launches incubation centre ‘icreate' to nurture young talents with innovate ideas

Gujarat gives a new ‘creative' meaning to number ‘9/11' with the launching of world-class incubation centre

09/11/2011: A historic initiative adds to the growth saga of Gujarat

Narayan Murthy to mentor the incubation centre

One may call it as Gujarat giving a new ‘creative' meaning to the otherwise horrible numbers of ‘9/11', when Chief Minister Narendra Modi launched the state government's ambitious project called ‘icreate' (International Centre for Enterpreneurship and Technology) by launching the project's website during a large youth convention held today at the majestic building of Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar today.

‘icreate' is a world-class incubation centre taking shape on the outskirt of Ahmedabad on a sprawling 34 acres campus. It aims at providing most suitable environment to the young entrepreneurs who want to come up with new innovative ideas and products with the skillful use of technology. The project will be guided by an advisory board led by Mr Narayan Murthy and an eminent group of stalwarts from academia and industry will help in actualizing the project's objectives.

Speaking on this historic event Chief Minister called upon youths to come up boldly with their innovative ideas for the progress of the nation.

Chief Minister recalled that 118 years back Swami Vivekananda delivered his famous speech in America on the same day of 9/11. While Swami Vivekananda's speech was about uniting the world and for the welfare of humanity, Mr Modi said, on the same date the anti-human forces shocked the world with the barbaric terrorist act in America. With the beginning of icreate on 9/11, state government desires to give the youths an opportunity to carve a new prosperous future for the world.

Simply speaking the icreate is like a womb which will provide the most perfect environment for new innovations to take birth. In ancient times our entire country has acted as an incubation centre and gave to the world the concepts like family system, holistic healthcare and many more, he said.

He said that technology is the demand of time and it can be used to solve the problems of the world. So, the youths should use their creativity and should come up with technological solutions that can positively change the lives of billions of people of the world.

“We have a fundamental idea of ‘Aham Bhrahmasmi', which means ‘I am the Bhrama' or ‘I am the Creator'. Brahma is hidden in you all. Icreate is a medium to help emerge the Brahma – the Creator within you”, said Chief Minister.

He also pointed out to the letter ‘i' in the spelling of icreate and said it is not written in capital letters to remind that it is only when one keeps one's ego ‘small' the creativity can come out.

Chief Minister also said that he has written a letter to Prime Minister and asked him to permit Gujarat to make more use of India's satellites for the welfare of the state.

Speaking through the video conference Mr Narayan Murthy said that poverty can be eradicated from our country only through creating more jobs. And more jobs can be created with more numbers of entrepreneurs coming out.

Mr Murthy exhorted youths to set highest benchmarks for their new setups to survive in the competitive world.

He also expressed faith that icreate will become successful in attracting high quality entrepreneurs and in coming days Gujarat will become a leading State in fostering entrepreneurs.

Director General of Nirma University Mr N R Vasani detailed out the objectives of the project while Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Mr A K Joti delivered welcome address.
