Addressing massive rallies at Kangra, Mandi and Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, and at Vikasnagar in Uttarakhand, on 29th April, Shri Narendra Modi spoke of how development was the solution to all problems, and reinforcing the BJP’s focus on this, urged the people to vote for the Lotus and bring in better governance in the Nation.

In Himachal Pradesh, Shri Modi recalled the contribution of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee towards the region and assured the people of a new and better government under the BJP. “When the new government is made, once again the people of Himachal Pradesh will say this government is ours,” said Shri Modi.

Shri Narendra Modi talked about the rich contribution of the armed forces in our history and recalled the immense contribution of Major Som Nath Sharma and Captain Vikram Batra.

Taking a dig at the Congress over misleading the armed forces, Shri Modi said, “I do not like saying it but Congress is a party that betrays people. It is a Dhokhebaz Party. See how Congress has misled the servicemen over One Rank One Pension. They have been doing it for last so many elections. There are vacancies in the Army but UPA is not doing anything about it. How will youth get jobs then?” He further exposed the corrupt practices of the Congress, citing examples of how projects were stalled if the ‘Jayanthi Tax’ was not paid (referring to the corruption under former Minister of State for Environment and Forest Jayanthi Natarajan).

Shri Modi recalled his early days spent in Uttarakhand, as an organization worker, and also spoke of how during the recent floods in the State, the BJP karyakartas had worked extensively, serving the people affected by the natural calamity. “During the time of calamity I used to talk to Mala ji & I saw how she was always among people and serving them, wiping their tears. Mala ji did all that a Mother would do for those suffering,” said Shri Modi, referring to the BJP candidate from the region Mala Rajya Lakshmi, and hailing her as the ‘Rajmata’ in the real sense.

Speaking on the rich diversity of India, Shri Modi stated how a different development plan for different regions, depending on their requirements and capabilities, was the need-of-the-hour and would go a long way in ensuring overall development of the Nation.

Affirming the Congress’ defeat, Shri Modi spoke of how the people of Uttarakhand too would ensure their wipe out from the State. He urged the people to vote for the BJP and enable the formation of a strong and stable government at the Centre. “I am asking you for 60 months to serve you. I assure you that we will fulfil your dreams that lie broken in last decade,” said Shri Modi.

Former HP CM Shri Shanta Kumar was present during the rally at Kangra, and he recalled how Shri Prem Kumar Dhumal and he had worked for the glory and pride of Himachal Pradesh. He also conveyed complete support of the people of Himachal for Shri Modi and stated how they were keen on ensuring a better India.

PM Modi to inaugurate ICA Global Cooperative Conference 2024 on 25th November
November 24, 2024
PM to launch UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025
Theme of the conference, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," aligns with the Indian Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate ICA Global Cooperative Conference 2024 and launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025 on 25th November at around 3 PM at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

ICA Global Cooperative Conference and ICA General Assembly is being organised in India for the first time in the 130 year long history of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), the premier body for the Global Cooperative movement. The Global Conference, hosted by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), in collaboration with ICA and Government of India, and Indian Cooperatives AMUL and KRIBHCO will be held from 25th to 30th November.

The theme of the conference, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," aligns with the Indian Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation). The event will feature discussions, panel sessions, and workshops, addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by cooperatives worldwide in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as poverty alleviation, gender equality, and sustainable economic growth.

Prime Minister will launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025, which will focus on the theme, “Cooperatives Build a Better World,” underscoring the transformative role cooperatives play in promoting social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development. The UN SDGs recognize cooperatives as crucial drivers of sustainable development, particularly in reducing inequality, promoting decent work, and alleviating poverty. The year 2025 will be a global initiative aimed at showcasing the power of cooperative enterprises in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.

Prime Minister will also launch a commemorative postal stamp, symbolising India’s commitment to the cooperative movement. The stamp showcases a lotus, symbolising peace, strength, resilience, and growth, reflecting the cooperative values of sustainability and community development. The five petals of the lotus represent the five elements of nature (Panchatatva), highlighting cooperatives' commitment to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The design also incorporates sectors like agriculture, dairy, fisheries, consumer cooperatives, and housing, with a drone symbolising the role of modern technology in agriculture.

Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bhutan His Excellency Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji His Excellency Manoa Kamikamica and around 3,000 delegates from over 100 countries will also be present.
