Information Bureau: May, 26, This Sunday will bring a gift pack of development works for the people, particularly, residing on the out skirts of diamond city of Surat, as Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, will dedicate a series of development works worth Rs. 264 crore to the city. Significantly, he will also attend a grand celebration of birth anniversary of great warrior Maharana Pratap by thousands of families from Rajasthan and Haryana states, settled down in Surat for the past decades.

Chief Minister will inaugurate a 1013 meter long river bridge that will connect Kapodra and Utran area, built on river Tapi, on the out skirts of the city, at the cost of Rs. 72 crore. The bridge will ease the vehicular traffic and around 5 lakh population will be benefitted with this new facility. Shri Modi will inaugurate a drinking water supply scheme worth Rs. 50 lakh for the 2.50 lakh population of Amroli, Kosad and Chhaprabhatha area of the city. He will also perform an on-line opening ceremony of giant drainage project, constructed at the cost of Rs. 132 crore, which will benefit 2,97,600 people of Economically Weaker Section in new north zone of Surat and address a public meeting. Municipal Commissioner M. K. Das has kept the civic administration on the toes to make these events grand success.

Mr. Narendra Modi will also attend Annual General Meeting and Installation Ceremony of newly appointed president of Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in afternoon, at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre.

He will attend a grand celebration of birth anniversary of brave warrior Maharana Pratap, and a mega congregation of thousands of families from Rajasthan and Haryana states, settled down in Gujarat, at Maharana Pratap Nagar, Parvat Patia area of city, late in the evening. District administration all set to make these programmes success under the guidance of Collector A. J. Shah.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
