Ahmedabad, Friday: Chief Minister Narendra Modi today announced Gujarat Government’s latest three-fold initiative in education to build one technically-sound Model Smart School, one environmentally conscious Green School and one Modern Sports School in each district with people’s participation.
He said the Centre’s step motherly treatment to Gujarat is visible even in the field of education. The Central Government does not pay even a paisa to Gujarat for the former’s Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan at the primary school.
Speaking at a function to mark the Inauguration of a new sprawling campus of Rajkot Swaminarayan Gururkul at Morbi, Mr. Modi said hailed its feat to start 24 schools since its inception in 1948. He wished success to the traditional gurukul system of teaching under the direct tutelage of mentor, with equal importance to skill development befitting the needs of the time. He also felicitated donors at the function.Gurukul’s Swami Devkrishnadasji said the new Morbi International School is built on 22-bigha land on Morbi-Maliya Road having 80 classrooms with built-up area of 1.27-lakh sq ft to impart teaching in both English as well as Gujarat medium.
Those present on the occasion included Minister of State Jayantibhai Kavadia, MLA Mohan Kundaria and GSRTC Chairman Babubhai Ghodasara, prominent citizens, sants, guardians and students.
