Chief Minister announces schemes for society’s welfare

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi announced schemes for children, youths, women and farmers in his 15th August, Independence Day speech today at Rajpipla.

Narendra Modi announced to introduce soybean in mid-day meal at a cost of Rs 300 crore to fight malnutrition in children.

He announced Mangalya Mission that would involve formation of new 1 lac units of women in rural areas through Sakhi Mandals to bring about the change in the quality of life. He said this mission would connect Sanskar, Sampati and Prakruti and bring quality of change in lives of women.

He announced a Chief Minister Fellowship scheme under which youth would get experience of working in government office for 6or 12 months. He said this scheme wouldbe started with asmall group of 15 youngsters initially.

Heinformed aboutgovernment's decision to come out with a new Agro-Business Policy for better market opportunities and pricing of crops. Narendra Modi said “if we can build 1 lac check dams in the months of August and September, even a single rain spell can conserve sufficient water.”

PM speaks with Senior General H.E. Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar amid earthquake tragedy

he Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi spoke with Senior General H.E. Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar today amid the earthquake tragedy. Prime Minister reaffirmed India’s steadfast commitment as a close friend and neighbor to stand in solidarity with Myanmar during this challenging time. In response to this calamity, the Government of India has launched Operation Brahma, an initiative to provide immediate relief and assistance to the affected regions.

In a post on X, he wrote:

“Spoke with Senior General H.E. Min Aung Hlaing of Myanmar. Conveyed our deep condolences at the loss of lives in the devastating earthquake. As a close friend and neighbour, India stands in solidarity with the people of Myanmar in this difficult hour. Disaster relief material, humanitarian assistance, search & rescue teams are being expeditiously dispatched to the affected areas as part of #OperationBrahma.”
