Addressing the BJP Karyakartas on the Party’s 40th Sthapana Diwas, PM Narendra Modi said that India's efforts to fight against Coronavirus pandemic have set an example for the world and drawn praise from the World Health Organisation.

PM Modi said, “India is among the countries which understood the seriousness of COVID-19 pandemic and launched a timely exercise to combat it.” He said that the Central government took proactive decisions with help from experts and executed them successfully in cooperation with state governments. In this context, PM Modi shed light on aspects like thermal screening of passengers at airports, evacuation of Indians stranded abroad and upgrading medical infrastructure to deal with the pandemic.

PM Modi also highlighted key role played by India at SAARC and G20 virtual meetings. He said heads of different countries appreciated efforts undertaken by India to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Prime Minister condoles the loss of lives due to a road accident in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today condoled the loss of lives due to a road accident in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. He announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased and Rs. 50,000 to the injured.

“Saddened by the loss of lives due to a road accident in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in the mishap. May the injured recover soon.

An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi”
