With the passing away of Atal Ji, India has lost an 'Anmol Atal Ratna': PM Modi

Expressing sadness on demise of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, PM Modi said that with the passing away of Atal Ji, India has lost an 'Anmol Ratna'.

PM Modi said that Atal Ji was a 'Jan Nayak', an extraordinary orator, journalist, statesman and more than anything a true son of India. "Atal Ji's demise has marked the end of an era", he said.

"Atal Ji's demise is an irreparable loss for the nation. For me personally, it is like losing a father,” said Shri Modi.

The PM said that it was Atal Ji who strengthened the Janasangh and the BJP with his exemplary leadership. He added that Atal Ji may have gone, but his ideas, views and simplicity would always inspire the generations to come.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the demise of former President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari. Shri Modi recalled his meetings and conversations with former President of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari on various occasions. Shri Modi said that Muhammadu Buhari’s wisdom, warmth and unwavering commitment to India–Nigeria friendship stood out. I join the 1.4 billion people of India in extending our heartfelt condolences to his family, the people and the government of Nigeria, Shri Modi further added.
