A Pictorial Representation

The journey of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as head of an elected government started in 2001 in the backdrop of relief work for the devastating Bhuj earthquake. Since then, Modi – The Mass Leader - has not looked back, as he continues to tread the path of ‘development
for all’.

Not letting manufactured controversies and fabrications distract him, the hallmark of Modi has always been about letting his work speak for itself. Be it leading the relief work in earthquake hit Bhuj or increasing the manufacturing base in the state, or launching a social campaign to boost girl child school enrolment and education or building world class urban infrastructure, there was no aspect that escaped his mantra of good governance and his eye for detail.

From ensuring 24X7 electricity to assured irrigation for every farm, and from exemplary control on law and order to overseeing record growth in agriculture by instituting new best practices – the years that Modi was the Chief Minister of Gujarat set a new benchmark of leadership. These were also the years when Modi first instituted the concept of ‘Jan Bhagidari’ or Participative Governance’ as defining paradigm of Gujarat model.

Under Modi, this Gujarat model became a beacon of Good Governance, or ‘Sushasan’ and reflected the aspirations of a New India. A mass popular upsurge was recognised and respected and Modi was selected by the Bhartiya Janata Party as their PM candidate in 2013, for the upcoming General Elections in 2014.

2014 saw the birth of a New India with the Bhartiya Janata Party under Narendra Modi' s stewardship getting its first ever-absolute majority.

Since taking oath in May 2014, PM Modi has strived to stand by the ideals of India's Constitution in serving the poor and the needy, and bringing a holistic approach of sustainable development to India that is united by its culture, its values and its ideals.

PM Modi has worked diligently from day one to enhance the image of India and give a glimpse of New India leading the world and reclaiming its position as the Vishwa guru. Backed by economic and social development programs, the country set sights on creating
new records of inclusive governments and bringing millions of people out of poverty.

The Jan Dhan Yojana, the Mudra Yojana, the Jan Suraksha Yojana, the Ujjwala Yojana, the Saubhagya Yojana, Ayushman Bharat, the Pradhan Mantri Aawaas Yojana, the PM-Kisan Yojana and a host of such immensely successful schemes changed the lives of crores of people and set new development benchmarks.

The launch of BHIM UPI, the success of Digital India, the enabling environment provided by Start Up India and Stand UP India gave wings to the dreams of our youth who went out and started conquering new terrains.

The General Elections of 2019 saw the Prime Minister Modi secure even a bigger majority as compared to 2014, in what was a clear endorsement of his work in the first term and confidence in his plans for the coming decade.

If the first term was fulfilling the needs of people then since 2019, PM Modi has set his sights on fulfilling the aspirations of 130 crore Indians. The Jammu and Kashmir has finally been fully integrated in India and Article 370 is history. The Ram Mandir is now a reality with construction starting for a grand Ram Temple at the birth place of Prabhu Ram. Our farmers have finally been freed from artificially imposed chains on them and far reaching, historic agriculture reforms are now a reality. A host of other reforms such as Labour Reforms, Coal Reforms, allowing private enterprise in the space sector, FDI reforms across the board and tax reforms have put in place a foundation for sustained years of economic growth.

As we enter the 20th consecutive year of Modi leading a democratically elected government, the nation is marching in tune with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a Aatm Nirbhar Bharat.

PM Modi visits the Indian Arrival Monument
November 21, 2024

Prime Minister visited the Indian Arrival monument at Monument Gardens in Georgetown today. He was accompanied by PM of Guyana Brig (Retd) Mark Phillips. An ensemble of Tassa Drums welcomed Prime Minister as he paid floral tribute at the Arrival Monument. Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. He planted a Bel Patra sapling at the monument.

The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
