On 2nd October 2013 Shri Narendra Modi will interact with college students at the finale of Manthan. He will also deliver the closing address for the event. The programme will be held at New Delhi’s Thyagaraj Stadium and is being organized by the Citizens of Accountable Governance (CAG). Manthan is among India’s biggest youth movement that is seeking to set a positive agenda before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Over 7000 students from over 200 top colleges across the nation will attend the interaction with Shri Modi. The colleges include the IITs, IIMs, Business Schools, Law Schools and other universities.
The movement encouraged college students to come up with innovative solutions to 14 most crucial challenges facing India today. Over 20,000 students from over 700 colleges spread across 250 cities participated. The adjudication happened using a two-pronged approach. Over 5 lakh students voted on the Manthan website to select the best ideas and at the same time over 50 experts from various fields provided their inputs. The top 3 ideas from each theme have been selected.
Shri Narendra Modi has been invited as the speaker for the Manthan finale on the popular request of the youth. In an online poll during the last two months over 80% of youngsters voted for Shri Modi as the leader they would like to listen.
