Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra receives phenomenal response; Shri Modi commences the day’s Yatra from Limbdi in Surendranagar district

Shri Modi pays tributes to Swami Vivekananda and shares his association with Gujarat

Shri Narendra Modi’s Vivekananda Yuva Vikas Yatra on Sunday 23rd September 2012 started from Limbdi in Surendranagar district. The Yatra will cover Ranpar, Padiyad, Botad, Gadhda, Dasha and Lathi before going to Amreli.

During the course of the Yatra Shri Modi recalled the relation Swami Vivekananda shares with Gujarat. Shri Modi stated that during his country wide tour Swami Vivekananda spent the maximum time in Gujarat and in Saurashtra. He spoke about the immense faith Swami Vivekananda had in the youth as those who will make his dream of India as a world leader into a reality. Shri Modi spoke about the development journey over the last decade and took on those who were seeking to change the Disha and Dasha of Gujarat. The Chief Minister spoke about the development of Surendranagar district and said with the growth of industries many of the youngsters would get jobs and new opportunities.

Despite the scorching heat,  the Yatra received tremendous support cutting across all sections of  society.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
