Addressing the Nava Bharata Yuva Bheri at Hyderabad’s Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, Shri Narendra Modi wonderfully laid down his Mantra on the ideal ethos a Government should embrace. In a speech that showcased aspiration and celebrated the power of good governance Shri Modi said, “A Government has one religion- India first! A Government has one holy book and that is the Constitution, the Government must be immersed in only one Bhakti- Bharat Bhakti, the Government has one strength and that is Jan Shakti. Their only ritual is the well being of the 1.25 crore Indians and the code of conduct of the Government should be ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”
Shri Modi affirmed that development is the solution to all the problems. He said that the Congress refuses to walk on the path of development because they cannot answer the people. “Congress has done nothing inclusive, it has only excluded people,” affirmed the Chief Minister. Shri Modi described the atmosphere of the nation is one that dreams of a “Congress Mukt Bharat” and added that the farmers, youngsters and the poor are determined in making this a reality. Paying tributes to former Andhra Pradesh CM Shri NT Rama Rao, Shri Modi stated, “When I come here, I remember NTR. He did one big thing for the nation- he gave a strong boost to anti-Congress politics. It was due to him that a non-Congress Government became a reality in New Delhi.” He went on to say, “I appeal to all parties here. What can be the best tribute to him and to India? It is a Congress Mukt Bharat. The TDP has NTR’s legacy, they must fulfill his dream.” The Chief Minister called for anti-Congress forces coming together to bring an end to dynasty politics, corruption and misgovernance. He avowed that one family has ruled the nation for most of the sixty years but has failed to do anything for the common man and woman.
Shri Modi talked at length about the good governance initiatives of NDA and other non-Congress states and criticized the lack of development under the UPA. He questioned why the Central Government refuses to bring back black money into the nation when a leader of the stature of Shri LK Advani ji embarked on a Yatra for it. Shri Modi went on to say, “There is no trace of efforts to enhance skill development in Andhra Pradesh. You do not like Gujarat but see what Dr. Jayalalithaa has done in Tamil Nadu. Dr. Raman Singh showed the way in giving food to the poor in Chhattisgarh. Even the Supreme Court lauded him. Giving instances of the mismanagement of the Congress, Shri Modi shared that he once asked the Prime Minister to call a meeting of all states that are on coastal areas to discuss how we can strengthen the economy by spearheading the development of coastal areas but what has instead happened is that the price of the Rupee against the Dollar has touched the age of the Finance Minister, when it was equal when we attained Independence. He recalled that earlier scholars from across the world came to India to study but now even our students are going overseas to study. He said this is not only a brain drain but also a drain of finances as these students have to pay exorbitant fees for their education. Likewise, he commented on the shortage of doctors saying that while our country produces enough medicines, it lacks those who can prescribe it. He shared that the maximum farmer suicides are actually in Congress ruled states most notably Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. “All of this- the lack of food, clothing, shelter is due to the Congress and to change this we need to walk on the path of development,” affirmed the Chief Minister. He described the Congress a party immersed in votebank politics, which empties the coffers before elections with the sole aim of getting maximum votes.
Commenting on the issue of the division of Telangana, he made it clear that the BJP is committed to Telangana and that it stands for the development of both the Telangana and Seemandhra regions. The growth of one region should not be at the cost of the other. He recalled that when Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee carved Chhattisgarh, Uttarakhand and Jharkhand out of Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar respectively, there were celebrations both in the new state as well as in their parent states but the Congress has divided brother from brother. He opined that there is no question of the milk of the mother being divided. Shri Modi reminded the people that the Congress promised Telangana in 2004 but despite giving the most MPs to the Congress, it gave nothing back to the people of Andhra Pradesh. He asked the Congress why they did not begin work for a new capital ten years ago when they promised Telangana that time.
He shared that there are 4 lakh Telugu families living in Surat and over 6 lakh Telugu families living in Ahmedabad and that they are living peacefully in Gujarat with the people of the state. “If we can do this, why cannot the people of Andhra and Telangana life peacefully?” he asked.
Shri Modi attacked the UPA on the trust deficit that has emerged in the nation over the last decade. He cited the meek response of the UPA when our soldiers where beheaded and on the issue of the Italian marines to illustrate the manner in which the UPA has made India cut a sorry figure on the global stage. Referring to the ongoing violence in Kishtwar Shri Modi questioned the manner in which the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Shri Arun Jaitley was prevented from going there, raising doubts whether the Government wants to hide something.
During the public meeting Shri Modi sought the blessings of a freedom fighter and the octogenarian mother of an NRI who requested on Twitter that his mother wishes to hear Shri Modi speak in Hyderabad. He said these are experiences he will never forget in his lifetime. The Chief Minister congratulated the Andhra Pradesh BJP for using this public meeting for raising funds for Uttarakhand flood relief and congratulated the youth who contributed to this endeavour.
Earlier, passionate speeches were made by former BJP President Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Andhra Pradesh BJP President Shri G Kishan Reddy and former Union Minister Shri Bandaru Dattatreya. Shri Naidu affirmed that in every corner of the country people are saying that the Congress must go and Shri Narendra Modi must lead. He added that the nation is chanting Modi, Modi, Modi and so is the Congress, which is getting sleepless nights now. Shri Kishan Reddy exposed the untrustworthy nature of the Congress Party and assured that BJP will ensure all round development of all regions of Andhra Pradesh. Shri Dattatreya expressed his desire to see a BJP PM unfurl the Tricolour at the Red Fort next year. A record number of people came to hear Shri Modi speak at the public meeting.
