Talking to the media during his visit to Patna on the afternoon of 2nd November 2013, Shri Narendra Modi said that he has come to Patna to share the pain of families of those who lost their lives during the attack on the Hunkaar Rally and that all BJP Karyakartas firmly stand by the family of those who lost their lives.
Shri Modi saluted the people of Bihar for the courage they showed in the wake of the unfortunate blasts during the time of the Hunkaar Rally. He said, “At the rally on the 27th the courage that the people of Bihar have shown is extraordinary and is unheard of. Having been in public life for long, I know how even in meetings of 2000-3000 people there would be chaos if a rumor went off that a cow has come but the people of Bihar showed patience and great strength that is very special. There were bombs going on, there was blood, people were being taken to the hospital but still there was no stampede.” Shri Modi added, “It was as if they were attached from the heart. This is a very big thing and it shows the strength of the people of Bihar. They kept peace in the midst of bombs.”
He also wished the people of India and Indians across the world a Happy Diwali and extended his greetings to the people of Bihar on the occasion of Chhath Puja. Shri Modi said that the entire nation can learn a lot from the Chhath Puja, which signifies purity.
Deputy Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Shri Nand Kishore Yadav were present during the interaction.
Earlier, Shri Modi met families of those who lost their lives. He spoke to two families over the phone because they could not land in the villages due to fog. Former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar Shri Sushil Modi accompanied Shri Modi to the places.
