Addressing massive public meetings in Katargam and Pandesara Surat on Saturday 1st December 2012 Shri Narendra Modi affrimed that the Congress is treating Gujarat like an enemy state and that it is an expert at spreading lies. “My only Dharma, Karma, Mantra is the development of Gujarat!” he stated amid thunderous applause from the people gathered. He affirmed that the development politics of Gujarat has shown that there is another way from the votebank politics of UPA, a culture which the nation has seen for the last so many years of which the Congress is the root cause! He stated that the eyes of the entire world are on this election and that the Gujarat elections will change the Disha of politics in India.

Stating that this is the land of Mahatma Gandhi, Shri Modi recalled that Mahatma Gandhi had one dream that the Congress must be disbanded and the people of Gujarat must make this dream of Mahatma Gandhi into a rality.

Shri Modi said that there are two difference examples of Governance- one of Gujarat under the BJP and the other being the UPA under the Congress and it is for the people to see the striking contrast. He asked if those who have ruined the nation can be allowed to come to power in Gujarat. The Chief Minister affirmed that one can go to any part of India and when there is talk of development, Gujarat’s name is taken and when there is talk of Gujarat people speak of development. Even the criticism for Gujarat and Shri Modi is based on development whereas the criticism on the Centre revovles aroud the various scams, he pointed.

He decalred that the Congress is an expert at cheating and makes annoucements behind the curtains. Referring to the recent episode in Junagadh, Shri Modi said that Congressmen were in tears because a 12 year old snatched a mandate from their canddiate, he added that even 12 year olds in Gujarat know not to give mandate to the Congress!

The Chief Minister said that the Congress noy only cheats its workers but also its allies and shared how they promised to give their ally in the Centre (for so many years) the NCP 9 seats but later on decalred candidates for those seats as well. “They cheat allies, how do you know they will not cheat Gujarat?” he said.

Shri Modi said that Gujarat is following the Disha of Sardar Patel and despite every obstacle it shall move ahead. He further spoke that the Congress has dirty tricks depertment but affirmed  that the more muck they throw, the more the Lotus will shine! Shri Modi talked about how the Congress had to bring in picures from Sri Lanka, Rajasthan, Tripura and USA just to defame Gujarat. Referring to a Congress leader who had called him a monkey, Shri Modi declared that the leader is evidently not well versed with the Ramayana, where Lord Hanuman is remembered for his Bhakti. He further said that if he is a monkey then the 6 crore Gujaratis are his Ram and Sita and he is proud to serve them.

He stated that the Congress keeps saying we gave so much money to Gujarat but asked the media to ask the Congress how much they take from Gujarat. Shri Modi then went on to say that Gujarat gives Rs. 60,000 crore to Delhi in the form of tax.

Shri Modi declared that Mrs. Sonia Gandhi may change her Disha as many times but the Congress will never reach Gandhinagar. He asked her what happened to the Congress promise of their Chief Ministers provding additional LPG cylinders and took on the Congress over their obstructing the piped gas initiative and expressed confiddence that he would emerge victorious in the Supreme Court. Similarly, he exposed the anti-Gujatat mindset of the Congress when he spoke about how the Congress leaders sought IT notices to those who came to invest in Vibrant Gujarat summit. The Chief Minister shared that this time the Congress has only put up candidates while the elections are being fought by the CBI.

In his speech Shri Modi shattered the Congress sponsored myth of education fees in Gujarat. Shri Modi shared that when it came to number of Government engineering colleges, Congress ruled Maharashtra has 7, Rajasthan has 10 and Andhra Pradesh has 10 whereas in Gujarat the number is 19! Similarly, the fees in Government engineering Colleges in Maharashtra is Rs. 25,000, in Rajasthan Rs. 45,000 and Haryana is Rs. 40,000 (all these states are ruled by the Congress) while the fees are in Gujarat are Rs. 1,500. He also pointed out that this is because in these Congress ruled state privatization of education is preferred, as it is the Congress politicians who own the institutions. This is not the case in Gujarat.

The Chief Minister opined that this election is more than electing MLAs. Its about deciding the future of Gujaat and deciding who will guarantee the youth of Gujarat a better future. He said he has faith in the people of Gujarat and urged the peope to vote in large numbers on 13th December 2012.
