Ahmedabad, Monday: Chief Minister Narendra Modi today cautioned the Centre against raining a rein of lies and atrocity on Gujarat, stooping to the extent of hurling abuses even at bureaucrats from the state.

Rounding up his day-long Sadbhavna fast at Jetpur as part of his district-wise mission to hold such fasts at 33 places, he said the people of Gujarat would not tolerate the vote bank politics of divide and rule and other means to disturb the democratically elected popular government in the state. They would not tolerate Delhi repeat its loot of the nation in Gujarat.

“I don’t allow anybody else put (proverbial) hand on the treasury of Gujarat. People’s money will be spent in creating employment and in make the farmers prosperous and take the state to new heights of development. Gujarat has got the wonder drug – called development, sensitivity and peace – for a bright future of the new generation,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that Gujarat is marching ahead Gujarat is one state in the state from where positive news emanates, which makes the Central Government jittery. He wished the Centre learns from the Gujarat model and its vision and the planning process.

He listed the steps taken and gains from them during the last ten years, ranging from taking water to drought-prone areas, increasing the number of seats in engineering colleges from 13,000 to 80,000, setting up at least one medical college in each district.

He said that he has undertaken this Sadbhavna mission to reach out to the people to spread the message of peace, unity and brotherhood. Nearly 37,000 people assembled from different parts of Rajkot district voluntarily joined him in fast.

Modi announced on the occasion new development works worth Rs.2,250-crore for the entire Rajkot district. Earlier, during the Sadbhavna fast at Rajkot, he had announced development works worth Rs.1,100-crore for Rajkot city.
