Latest advertisement by Gujarat BJP “Ekmat Gujarat, Bane BhaJap Sarkar” (Gujarat is unanimous, let there be a BJP Government) takes Internet and radio by storm!

Video showcases leadership and visionary vacuum among the Gujarat Congress

“Ekmat Gujarat, Bane BhaJap Sarkar” (Gujarat is unanimous, let there be a BJP Government) - this new advertisement by the Gujarat BJP that wonderfully showcases the leadership and visionary vacuum in the Gujarat Congress has taken the Internet and TV channels by storm.

A welcome break from the cliché political ads with mundane allegations and negativity, this advertisement combines a very serious message with a tinge of humour and subtlety to convey its point.

A Completely Accurate Depiction

The advertisement hits the nail on the head when it comes to depicting the leadership situation in Gujarat. On one hand the BJP has been blessed by a strong leader, backed by a competent team and the backbone of the party- its workers while on the other hand the Gujarat Congress remains engrossed in its own leadership issues, not to mention a lack of clarity and vision to take the state forward.

 The Setting

The advertisement is set in the context of a Kabaddi game in which 2 teams, one adorning saffron attire and the other in blue have lined up. While the team in saffron is vibrant and confident, the other team is quarrelling over taking the team attire.

When the referee blows the whistle calling the captains of the teams to come for the toss, the captain of the team in saffron steps out confidently with his team looking at him in support while in the blue corner the players look confused and no one steps forward.

Then, when the referee calls the vice-captain to come forward as an option the members of the team in blue once again look confused and all of them move forward which leads to a full-scale scuffle between the team with each member preventing the other from moving ahead.

And away from the jostling over vice captaincy, the captain of the team in saffron jerseys is already at the toss, waiting for the game to begin. This is when we can see the BJP’s symbol with the punch line “Ekmat Gujarat, Bane BJP Sarkar” (Gujarat is unanimous, let there be a BJP Government).

As the ad depicts, from taking the uniforms till quarrelling for the vice captaincy, the team in blue attire one grand divided house. At the same time, so low is that team’s confidence that they stopped talking about the captaincy- the race was for a consolation prize vice captaincy instead!

 Leadership a Major Issue

A good leadership is something that is on the back of the mind of every voter as he or she enters the polling booth to cast a vote. In the case of Gujarat repeated surveys have shown that one of the decisive factors that put the people in favour of the BJP is the presence of a strong leadership under the inspirational guidance of Shri Narendra Modi.

On the other hand, surveys have repeatedly shown that the Congress lacks a leader to match the stature and affection in the hearts of people that Shri Modi has.

Wonderful Use of Communication Technology by BJP

Shri Narendra Modi is a firm believer in the usage of technology and the manner in which he has incorporated it in the working of the Gujarat Government is now legendary!

Taking inspiration from him the Gujarat BJP advertisements have wonderfully used communication technology to connect with people in the wake of the coming Elections.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi earlier today chaired the meeting of the 45th edition of PRAGATI, the ICT-based multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, involving Centre and State governments.

In the meeting, eight significant projects were reviewed, which included six Metro Projects of Urban Transport and one project each relating to Road connectivity and Thermal power. The combined cost of these projects, spread across different States/UTs, is more than Rs. 1 lakh crore.

Prime Minister stressed that all government officials, both at the Central and State levels, must recognize that project delays not only escalate costs but also hinder the public from receiving the intended benefits.

During the interaction, Prime Minister also reviewed Public Grievances related to the Banking & Insurance Sector. While Prime Minister noted the reduction in the time taken for disposal, he also emphasized on the quality of disposal of the grievances.

Considering more and more cities are coming up with Metro Projects as one of the preferred public transport systems, Prime Minister advised conducting workshops for experience sharing for cities where projects are under implementation or in the pipeline, to capture the best practices and learnings from experiences.

During the review, Prime Minister stressed on the importance of timely Rehabilitation and Resettlement of Project Affected Families during implementation of projects. He further asked to ensure ease of living for such families by providing quality amenities at the new place.

PM also reviewed PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. He directed to enhance the capacity of installations of Rooftops in the States/UTs by developing a quality vendor ecosystem. He further directed to reduce the time required in the process, starting from demand generation to operationalization of rooftop solar. He further directed states to adopt a saturation approach for villages, towns and cities in a phased manner.

Up to the 45th edition of PRAGATI meetings, 363 projects having a total cost of around Rs. 19.12 lakh crore have been reviewed.
