Gujarat’s new action plan for watershed development

After the success in watershed development management through satellite scientific image mapping, Chief Minister Narendra Modi has announced the use of GIS Satellite Mapping Image for Narmada cannal project.

Gujarat Government's Gram Vikas Department made a presentation to Chief Minister Narendra Modi through BISAG for the action plan of watershed management and planning in villages and districts.

Smt. Rita Teaotia Commissioner of Rural Development mentioned that Gujarat is the only state that has made use of GIS system for water, land and forest development purposes. Watershed management will help framers and give a boost to village economy.

In this meeting Agricultural Development Minister Shri Narotam Bhai Patel, Principal Secretary of Forest Department Shri S. K. Nanda and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shri K. Kailashnathan had participated.
