On Saturday, January 10th, 2015, Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi launched the BJP’s campaign for elections in Delhi. While campaigning in Delhi, the Prime Minister assumed, “The mood of the nation is the mood of Delhi.” Shri Narendra Modi made it clear that in the past, Delhi had suffered a lot. Several issues relating to the poor were left pending and unsolved.

The Prime Minister noted that water crisis in Delhi was a result of the conflicting statements made by leaders of Congress Party when they were in power in Delhi and Haryana, who were not keen to solve the problem despite being in power for years.

Shri Modi spoke about how poverty increased and people had to suffer despite carrying out slogans to end poverty. Talking about a new dimension of politics which is above casteism and divisive politics, focussing only on development, the PM highlighted numerous developmental initiatives undertaken by the NDA government at the centre. Shri Narendra Modi emphasized how the Jan Dhan Yojana was transforming the lives of poor.

“Earlier could you see the poor in a bank? After Jan Dhan Yojana it is clear that who is working for the poor and who weren't,” said the PM. The Prime Minister also said that the BJP wants to make Delhi free from generators by providing 24 hours of electricity supply.

Shri Modi said that corruption had ruined the nation. The PM asserted that cleaning of corruption must begin from the top. He said lies would be spread daily by other parties as it was their way of politics, not of BJP. “A lie was spread on retirement age becoming 58. I wonder who is thinking this when Government has not thought about it or said a thing,” said Shri Modi.

He said let people sit on dharnas that have mastery in sitting on streets. “Have you seen leaders who say yes I am an anarchist? If you want that please go with Naxalites do not do this in Delhi,” said Shri Modi. Prime Minister Modi urged the people of Delhi to punish the people who wasted a year of Delhi by turning out large numbers and elect a government with complete majority.

Several top BJP leaders including BJP President Shri Amit Shah, Union Ministers Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Shri Venkaiah Naidu, Shri Piyush Goyal, BJP MPs were present on the occasion.

PM to participate in ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ on 24 November

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ programme on 24 November at around 5:30 PM at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

Odisha Parba is a flagship event conducted by Odia Samaj, a trust in New Delhi. Through it, they have been engaged in providing valuable support towards preservation and promotion of Odia heritage. Continuing with the tradition, this year Odisha Parba is being organised from 22nd to 24th November. It will showcase the rich heritage of Odisha displaying colourful cultural forms and will exhibit the vibrant social, cultural and political ethos of the State. A National Seminar or Conclave led by prominent experts and distinguished professionals across various domains will also be conducted.
