PM Narendra Modi has expressed joy on the tremendous enthusiasm of the people, particularly the youth in sharing ideas and inputs on the U-17 FIFA World Cup on his Mobile App. He described the ideas shared on the App has very enriching and has called for more people to contribute their views on the subject.

It may be recalled that during the 'Mann Ki Baat programme on 27th March 2016 PM Narendra Modi had spoken extensively about the U-17 FIFA World Cup to be held in India and called for collectively turning the tournament into an opportunity to make football more popular across India.

He sought ideas on the 'Narendra Modi App' and since then the App has been buzzing with many comments. People have shared ideas and suggestions pertaining to effective branding and promotion of the tournament, ways to improve infrastructure, making football more popular among the youth and other issues.

The Prime Minister's efforts to promote football and the U-17 World Cup drew appreciation from various quarters. Praful Patel, who heads the AIFF expressed delight on this effort of the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam-

“सुवर्ण-रौप्य-माणिक्य-वसनैरपि पूरिताः।

तथापि प्रार्थयन्त्येव कृषकान् भक्ततृष्णया।।”

The Subhashitam conveys that even when possessing gold, silver, rubies, and fine clothes, people still have to depend on farmers for food.

The Prime Minister wrote on X;

“सुवर्ण-रौप्य-माणिक्य-वसनैरपि पूरिताः।

तथापि प्रार्थयन्त्येव कृषकान् भक्ततृष्णया।।"
