પ્રધાનમંત્રી શ્રી નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ સ્વાતંત્ર્ય સેનાની, મંગલ પાંડેને તેમની જન્મજયંતી પર શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ આપી છે.
પ્રધાનમંત્રીએ ટ્વીટ કર્યું;
"મહાન મંગલ પાંડે હિંમત અને દ્રઢનિશ્ચયનો પર્યાય છે. તેમણે આપણા ઈતિહાસના અત્યંત નિર્ણાયક સમયગાળામાં દેશભક્તિની ચિનગારી પ્રજ્વલિત કરી અને અસંખ્ય લોકોને પ્રેરણા આપી. તેમની જન્મજયંતી પર તેમને યાદ કરીએ છીએ. આ વર્ષની શરૂઆતમાં મેરઠમાં તેમની પ્રતિમાને શ્રદ્ધાંજલિ આપી હતી. "
