Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Uzbekistan from June 23-24 to attend the SCO Summit. On the sidelines of the summit, Shri Modi met several leaders.

PM Modi met President of Uzbekistan, Mr. Islam Karimov and Prime Minister, Mr. Shavkat Mirziyoev and discussed ways to deepen India-Uzbekistan bilateral ties.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President Xi Jinping of China on the sidelines of the Summit in Tashkent. President Xi welcomed India’s accession to the SCO and said it would strengthen it.

Prime Minister Modi held talks with President Alexander Lukashenko and discussed ways to further improve India-Belarus relations.

At a meeting with President Emomali Rahmon, PM Narendra Modi deliberated upon further enhancing India’s cooperation with Tajikistan.

Shri Narendra Modi held wide-ranging talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Both the leaders discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in several areas.

PM Narendra Modi also interacted with Afghanistan President, Ashraf Ghani. The Prime Minister raised issue of the unfortunate kidnapping of Kolkata based Judith D'Souza in Afghanistan with President Ghani.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
