નેપાળમાં જનકપુર આવી પહોંચવાની સાથે વડાપ્રધાન નરેન્દ્ર મોદીએ જાનકી મંદિર ખાતે પૂજા અર્ચના કરી હતી. નેપાળી વડાપ્રધાન કે પી શર્મા ઓલી પણ વડાપ્રધાન સાથે રહ્યા હતા.
જનકપુર યાત્રા માટે વડાપ્રધાન ઓલીનો ધન્યવાદ કરતા વડાપ્રધાન મોદીએ કહ્યું, “નેપાળમાં આજનું સ્વાગત નેપાળના લોકોનો ભારતના લોકો તરફનો પ્રેમ દર્શાવે છે.”
બંને નેતાઓએ જનકપુર અને અયોધ્યા વચ્ચે બસ સેવા પણ શરુ કરાવી હતી.
