Prime Minister Modi who was on a historic visit to Portugal, met Indian community and interacted with them. During his address, Shri Modi highlighted several aspects of India-Portugal partnership.

Shri Modi highlighted his meeting with António Guterres, who was also the former Prime Minister of Portugal. The PM spoke about yoga and holistic healthcare and appreciated the role Portugal was playing to further the message of yoga.

Prime Minister Modi said that India was now among the fastest growing countries in the world and was touching skies of development. Lauding the role of ISRO scientists, Shri Modi said, "In the field of space, our scientists have done great work. Recently 30 nano satellites were launched."

Earlier he also expressed sadness over loss of lives in forest fire in Portugal.

Prime Minister Modi also presented Overseas Citizen of India card to Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
