The Congress-NCP alliance for takes sides with those that want a separate Prime Minister for Jammu and Kashmir: Prime Minister Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a huge public meeting in Latur in Maharashtra today.

Speaking at the rally, PM Modi talked about the recently launched election manifesto of the BJP for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and said, “The BJP ‘Sankalp Patr’ reflects our deep commitment to build a strong and resolute India. Rashtravaad (Nationalism), Antyodaya (Empowerment of Poor) and Sushasan (Good Governance) are at the core of BJP’s philosophy and ethos and the BJP will use these core values to fulfill its vision of a ‘New India’ which has opportunities of progress for everyone.”

Describing the BJP’s take on national security issues, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his government’s resolve to eliminate Maoism and Naxalism from the country and transform the lives of the tribal people affected by these menaces for decades by bringing them into the mainstream of society and creating infrastructure and development activities for them. He explained how this has been included in the BJP Manifesto saying, “We are resolved to free our country from internal threats like Maoism and Naxalism and bring about development opportunities to our tribal people. We have achieved great progress in this direction during the last five years and as highlighted in our manifesto, we plan to work actively towards eliminating these problems from our nation in the next five years.”

Moving further to Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi spoke in detail about the decades of poor policy by the Congress governments which contributed in worsening the situation in Kashmir and said, “National Security is of utmost significance to our party and we have always said that we will never compromise on India’s national security. However, it is very unfortunate that the Congress manifesto and Pakistan speak in the same tone when it comes to Kashmir. Both of them say that they will never let anyone do anything to Article 370. Both of them want to remove the AFSPA from Jammu and Kashmir and make our security forces vulnerable. The people of the country understand these common patterns and will never allow the Congress that does not even trust our armed forces to come back to power again.”

Concluding his address to the overwhelming crowd of supporters, PM Modi appealed to the first-time voters of the country and asked, “Can your first-time vote be dedicated to those that conducted the Balakot air strikes?” He also took potshots at the Congress-NCP alliance for taking sides with those that want a separate Prime Minister for Jammu and Kashmir and questioned NCP supremo Sharad Pawar if it suited to a person of Pawar’s stature to stand with such divisive political parties. Lastly, Shri Modi urged his supporters to vote wisely and enthusiastically in the upcoming General elections.
