"Campaign ends in Maharashtra today. I bow to this great land & end my campaign here today: Shri Modi in Maharashtra"

Concluding his campaigning in Maharashtra, before the State goes for the final phase of polls on 24th April, Shri Narendra Modi spoke to the people of Nandurbar and Dhule on the afternoon of 22nd April, and gave the clarion call of voting out the Congress-NCP alliance in Maharashtra and showing support for the Shiv-Sena-BJP-RPI Mahayuti, for better governance and improved development.

Shri Modi affirmed that the people had already given their verdict, and the initial phases of voting had implicitly proved that the Congress-NCP would be wiped out. “Sharad Pawar understands politics much better than us. That is why 6 months ago he said he will not fight elections. He understood that his daughter may lose and that is ok, but at this age he cannot lose,” said Shri Modi.

From farmer suicides to soldier killings, Shri Modi spoke of the utter ruin witnessed in the State and the Nation, especially in the past decade. He stated how the cotton growers from Maharashtra had to approach Gujarat for selling their proceeds. This, Shri Modi said, was despite the fact that the Union Minister for Agriculture Shri Sharad Pawar belonged to Maharashtra. “The Agriculture Minister is from Maharashtra but in his home state thousands of farmers commit suicide. What does he do? Play cricket. The Maharashtra CM should first answer farmers about the issues they face, instead of abusing Modi everyday,” said Shri Modi.

Highlighting further the Centre’s lack of foresightedness in tapping the potential of industries like cotton cultivation and coal mining, Shri Modi affirmed that under the BJP special focus would be given to these for better growth prospects. He also shared his 5F formula for the agriculture sector – farm to fibre, fibre to fabric, fabric to fashion and fashion to foreign - which involved due emphasis being given on delivering the final product and making it available to the foreign markets through effective production and within the shortest possible time. Shri Modi also spoke of the Centre’s lack of emphasis on the development of railways, and cited that the BJP would bring about a revolutionary change in making the Railways more effective.

Retaliating to the Congress’ fabricated statements that if the BJP will come to power, the condition of Dalits and Adivasis will worsen, Shri Modi asserted that atleast now the Congress should stop wrecking the lives of the Adivasis and the underprivileged any further. Exposing the falsity of the Congress whereby they claimed that many rights for the poor and the oppressed were framed under their government, Shri Modi stated how it was the comprehensive Constitution framed by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar that gave these rights. “The Congress says so much lies that no University in the world will refuse them a PHD in telling lies,” said Shri Modi.

Commending Dr. Subhash Bhamre for not only serving the people through his practise of medicine, but also for his audacity in leaving a secured profession and coming forward to serve the people through politics, Shri Modi said, “I congratulate Dr. Subhash. In a time when people think of career, he who was well-known as a doctor all over, came to serve the people. Dr. Subhash will be a jewel in the Parliament.”

Shri Modi urged the people to support the Mahayuti in Maharashtra and assured that the faith they had reposed in the BJP and its allies would be reciprocated with development and good governance.

President of Maharashtra State Unit of BJP Shri Devendra Fadnavis was present during the rally at Dhule.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi earlier today chaired the meeting of the 45th edition of PRAGATI, the ICT-based multi-modal platform for Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation, involving Centre and State governments.

In the meeting, eight significant projects were reviewed, which included six Metro Projects of Urban Transport and one project each relating to Road connectivity and Thermal power. The combined cost of these projects, spread across different States/UTs, is more than Rs. 1 lakh crore.

Prime Minister stressed that all government officials, both at the Central and State levels, must recognize that project delays not only escalate costs but also hinder the public from receiving the intended benefits.

During the interaction, Prime Minister also reviewed Public Grievances related to the Banking & Insurance Sector. While Prime Minister noted the reduction in the time taken for disposal, he also emphasized on the quality of disposal of the grievances.

Considering more and more cities are coming up with Metro Projects as one of the preferred public transport systems, Prime Minister advised conducting workshops for experience sharing for cities where projects are under implementation or in the pipeline, to capture the best practices and learnings from experiences.

During the review, Prime Minister stressed on the importance of timely Rehabilitation and Resettlement of Project Affected Families during implementation of projects. He further asked to ensure ease of living for such families by providing quality amenities at the new place.

PM also reviewed PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. He directed to enhance the capacity of installations of Rooftops in the States/UTs by developing a quality vendor ecosystem. He further directed to reduce the time required in the process, starting from demand generation to operationalization of rooftop solar. He further directed states to adopt a saturation approach for villages, towns and cities in a phased manner.

Up to the 45th edition of PRAGATI meetings, 363 projects having a total cost of around Rs. 19.12 lakh crore have been reviewed.
