Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the Ramayana Bharat Darshana, Mata Sadnam & Statue of Lord Hanuman in Kanyakumari. During his address Shri Modi said, “Shri Ram was an ideal son, brother, husband, friend and was a great king. Ayodhya was an ideal city and Ram Rajya was an ideal system. The attraction of Lord Rama and Ram Rajya inspire the great personalities of our country to us to interpret the Ramayana in our own way.”

Shri Modi said, “Lord Rama did not become big by defeating Ravana. Rama became Lord Rama when he embraced the poor and powerless, empowered them and when he restored their confidence to win.”

“Lord Ram did not accept the role in the life and tradition laid by their descendants. When he came out of Ayodhya he lived a life of values and ideals and taught the whole world a lesson of humanity,” he added.

First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
