Addressing the Swachh Shakti 2017, PM Modi said that Swachh Bharat mission has virtually turned into a mass movement and over 100 districts all over the country have become open defecation free. The PM asserted that Swachhata, or cleanliness, has to become our habit. He said women sarpanchs should take up the initiative to prevent female foeticide. PM Narendra Modi today addressed Swachh Shakti 2017 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. PM Modi lauded the contributions of women sarpanchs in spreading the message of cleanliness. He said, “Women have shown how a positive change has begun in rural India. They are bringing about a qualitative change. We have to maintain the momentum which has developed towards cleanliness. This momentum will have a very longstanding impact.”
