Group of secretaries to Government of India present ideas on “Transport and Communications” to PM Modi

As a follow-up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s exhortation, Groups of Secretaries to the Government of India, today began the second of round of presentations on ideas for transformative change in various areas of governance.

The first such set of eight presentations had been made in January 2016. Nine such presentations are envisaged this time.

Today, the first group presented their ideas on the “transport and communications” sectors.

Union Ministers, and officials from the NITI Aayog were also present on the occasion.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi paid homage today to Mahatma Gandhi at his statue in the historic Promenade Gardens in Georgetown, Guyana. He recalled Bapu’s eternal values of peace and non-violence which continue to guide humanity. The statue was installed in commemoration of Gandhiji’s 100th birth anniversary in 1969.

Prime Minister also paid floral tribute at the Arya Samaj monument located close by. This monument was unveiled in 2011 in commemoration of 100 years of the Arya Samaj movement in Guyana.
