Shri Narendra Modi campaigned in Palghar, Ratnagiri and Kankavli in Maharashtra. Today is the last day for campaigning in Maharashtra, which goes to the poll along with Haryana on 15th October. The Prime Minister made a strong pitch for giving the BJP a full majority in the Maharashtra assembly elections.
Speaking at a rally in Kankavli the Prime Minister spoke about expanding the market of Konkan’s Alphonso mangoes across the world. He spoke at length about improving the lives of fishermen and talked about how technology can bring a major change in the lives of the fishermen. The Prime Minister even threw light on the need to expand eco-tourism in Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg. Shri Modi added that tourism could bring a positive change in the lives of the local population. The Prime Minister opined that even the forts built by Chhatrapati Shivaji could draw several tourists.
At the Palghar rally Shri Modi sought support for the BJP and assured that the BJP is committed to ensuring that this newly created district emerges as one of the fastest growing districts of Maharashtra. “This is a new district and it requires a lot of support. Elect a BJP government with a complete majority and it will become among the best districts of Maharashtra,” affirmed Shri Modi. The Prime Minister spoke about the efforts of the Centre to bring back fishermen and fishing boats from Pakistan and the efforts to bring back nurses from Kerala. He pointed, “You are seeing on TV how terrorists are beheading people. They are using this to scare the world. But with your blessings we ensured that our daughters of Kerala returned safely.
Shri Modi attacked the Congress and NCP for their misgovernance and their lack of efforts in the development of the tribal communities. He added that the same Congress that ruled for years and did not answer the people on what they did is asking him for answers. “All of you…the people are my high command and I will give you answers for everything that we have done,” he stated.
