Gujarat and Manitoba province discuss avenues of cooperation in various fields

Shri Modi confirms Gujarat’s participation in Skill Summit to be organized by Manitoba Province in the end of February 2013

 

On the morning of Thursday 7th February 2013 the premier of Canada’s Manitoba Province Mr. Greg Selinger and a Business-Trade Mission led by him called on Shri Narendra Modi in Gandhinagar. The delegation expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation with Gujarat in various sectors.

Mr. Selinger, who is on his first visit to India congratulated the leadership of Shri Modi on the success of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and they discussed areas where Gujarat and Manitoba province can strengthen cooperation.

Manitoba province has made great strides in renewable energy, agro-food processing, port-coastal corridor, aerospace manufacturing, food security technology, agro-engineering research and it is keen to form partnerships with Gujarat in these spheres. During the meeting Shri Modi confirmed Gujarat’s participation in the Skill Summit to be held in the end of February, organized by Manitoba province. The Chief Minister also listed out the various avenues where Gujarat and Manitoba province will strengthen cooperation. Mr. Selinger stated that Manitoba province is looking forward to increased cooperation with a progress-oriented state like Gujarat.

The delegation included Chief Secretary of Manitoba province Ms. Anna Rothney among other officials. Principal Secretary Industries Shri Maheshwar Sahu was present on the occasion.
