Gujarat is walking on the path of Sardar Patel and that is why we have been saved from the Durdasha of Delhi

Congress neither has people nor issues in the election: CM

Today there is a strong Government in Gandhinagar. We are living in an atmosphere of peace, unity and brotherhood. We talk of 6 crore Gujaratis but Prime Minister uses language that defames Gujarat: Shri Modi

Instead of talking development, Mr. Rahul Gandhi who does not even know the names of Gujarat’s districts was teaching us history: Shri Modi

Your party has made Raj Bhavan into a Congress Bhavan. Bills passed by the democratically elected Assembly where we have been elected with 2/3rd majority twice are not being signed by your Governor. And you talk of Gujarat Vidhan Sabha? Questions Shri Modi

Shri Narendra Modi addressed public meetings in Petlad (Anand district), Nadiad (Kheda district) and Gomtipur & Benhrampura in Ahmedabad city on Tuesday 11th December 2012. Shri Modi categorically stated that the Congress neither has people nor issues to fight these elections and that for the first time ever, there is no picture of any Congress leader in the leading posters! He said that the people of Gujarat are his family and the state is walking ahead on the path of Sardar Patel, which is why Gujarat has been saved from the Durdasha of Delhi.

Giving an illustration of the fact that the Congress has no issues in these elections, the Chief Minister pointed out that Mrs. Sonia Gandhi came to South Gujarat and there she said that my mother-in-law came here so many years ago, you supported my mother-in-law so support me. He stated that the Mrs. Sonia Gandhi may have visited Siddhpur and Dakor but the Congress sins are such that they cannot be wiped out.

He expressed disappointment even at the Prime Minister’s campaign in Gujarat. “The Prime Minister used language to defame Gujarat. He is an economist, I thought he will come and talk about development but he did not” affirmed Shri Modi. On the Prime Minister’s statement that minorities are not safe in Gujarat, the Chief Minister asked the PM to recall the days of Congress rule in Gujarat when disturbances and curfews were common in Ahmedabad and parents would be worried if their children would return home in the evening or not.

On the present situation he avowed, “Today there is a strong Government in Gandhinagar. We are living in an atmosphere of peace, unity and brotherhood. We talk of 6 crore Gujaratis but you defame Gujarat and use such language” he affirmed.

Countering the Prime Minister’s claim on development in Gujarat Shri Modi shared that it was the Centre that has given maximum awards to Gujarat for the development and then the PM misleads the people.

The Chief Minister tore into the lies spread by Mrs. Sonia Gandhi on the condition of women in Gujarat and he affirmed that after the elections Mrs. Sonia Gandhi should visit Gujarat and travel in Ahmedabad during midnight where she will see young girls riding scooters alone. Shri Modi added that the same couldn’t be said about Congress-ruled Delhi where women do not prefer to venture out after sunset.

Replying to the declarations made by Mrs. Sonia Gandhi on the power situation, the Chief Minister stated in Delhi Mrs. Sonia Gandhi’s residence and the Prime Minister’s residence need generators but in Gujarat there is 24/7 power supply. He recalled that during the Congress rule if a poor person had to go to a hospital he or she would seldom get an ambulance, even if they got an ambulance it would come late, the driver would make excuses and by that time the worst would happen and that too not without first taking money. Now, things have changed and the 108 service has saved lives of many poor people that too without taking money.

Shri Modi even gave a strong reply to the comments made by Congress General Secretary Mr. Rahul Gandhi in Gujarat. Mr. Rahul Gandhi called himself an ardent follower of Mahatma Gandhi to which Shri Modi affirmed, “I do not know how many dreams you will fulfill of Mahatma Gandhi but I am sure you will fulfill one dream of his- that of disbanding the Congress. Congress will be wiped out because of you only.” (After Independent, Mahatma Gandhi was of the opinion that the Congress must be disbanded.)

On Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s anecdote of Mahatma Gandhi sleeping on the floor at Anand Bhavan when Pandit Nehru was in prison, he opined, “Do not tell us if Mahatma Gandhi slept on the floor. He is a Yug Purush who did it out of affection for his followers. The issue is that Motilal Nehru slept on the bed when his own son was in jail.” He added, “Instead of talking development, Mr. Rahul Gandhi who does not even know the names of Gujarat’s districts was teaching us history!”

The Chief Minister shared that when Mr. Rahul Gandhi became speechless when in Sanand he asked people how much electricity they get and people replied ’24 hours.’

Silencing the comments made by Mr. Rahul Gandhi on the duration of the sessions in the Vidhan Sabha Shri Modi said, “Mr. Rahul Gandhi says Modi does not believe in democracy and the Vidhan Sabha meets less. Such words do not suit you. Records from the Parliament show that among the lowest attendees in Parliament, Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s name figures prominently in that list. In 10 years he has not even spoken 10 times.” The Chief Minister shared that from May 2011 to May 2012 Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s attendance in Parliament was 24 out of 85 and between 2010 and 2011 it was even lesser 19 out of 72. He asked Mr. Rahul Gandhi, “With what face are you talking about Gujarat. Your party has made Raj Bhavan into a Congress Bhavan. Bills passed by the democratically elected Assembly where we have been elected with 2/3rd majority twice are not being signed by your Governor. And you talk of Gujarat Vidhan Sabha?”

Shri Modi came down heavily on the acts of corruption of the Congress and stated that the Congress has not even sparred coal. Similarly, the entire nation is aware of the actions of the son-in-law in Delhi. Shri Modi shared that after looting Delhi the Congress has their eyes set on Gandhinagar due to its coffers.

At each venue, a record number of people came to hear Shri Modi and extend their solidarity with him and the BJP.
