During the programme 3 Sarpanchs gave very inspiring speeches on their experiences at the village and Shri Modi asked all the Sarpanchs gathered that they may not act of the words of him or his Cabinet colleagues but should surely act and absorb every word of what these progressive Sarpanchs spoke. Shri Modi spoke about the Samras Gram and Tirth Gram initiatives of the state.

Speaking about the Jyotigram Yojana, Shri Modi recalled that when he first assumed office people requested for electricity so that they may be able to have the evening meal but said that with Jyotigram Yojana it has gone much beyond that. He also added that a lot became possible in education with Jyotigram Yojana most notable long distance education and computers. The Chief Minister also spoke on how round the clock electricity enhanced income opportunities for villages.

He spoke on the government’s determination to give everyone Pukka houses and said that if there was anyone with a Kuccha house, their photo along with the occupant should be taken and submitted to the authorities. Shri Modi sought the cooperation of the Sarpanchs to ensure that there all houses are equipped with toilet facilities.

He affirmed that the growth of Gujarat is not due to one person but due to 6 crore people of Gujarat. He thanked the people and the 6 lac Karma Yogis of the state Government who are the force behind the state’s development. Shri Modi stated that development is the only way ahead and added that the people can see who is doing good work for them and thus said it was incorrect to see everything from the narrow prism of elections.
