The 60th Republic Festival-2009-Panchmahal

Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi has today announced various schemes and slew of encoring measures aimed to accelerate the pace of development of Panchmahal district. The state level celebrations of the 60th Republic day are taking place across the district with a great deal of pomp and patriotic fervor.

Considering the tremendous public participation in celebrating the national festival, Special grant of Rs. 1 Crore for all the municipalities of the district, and for the development of villages, Rs. 1 Crore would be allotted as a special development grant.

During the last three weeks, to mark the state level celebrations of Republic Day festival, the district has stood witness to the 3336 development work’s dedications ceremonies / foundation stone laying ceremonies / and announcement of new works by the Ministers, the total outlay for the works comes to Rs.1400 crores. The detail profile includes 2319 inaugurations, 972 new development works started and 78 announcements of new development works to be undertaken in the due course of time.

After six decades of independence, six talukas are still backward. For the speedy development of the six talukas, special grant of Rs. 2 crores for every taluka. The Shahera, Morva, Hadaf, Ghoghamba, Santram, Kadana, and Khanpur to get Special grant of Rs.2 crore each.

Under two ambitious irrigation projects, which are to be launched with the objective to give big thrust to the agriculture, The Panam High Level Canal to cost Rs. 130 Crores , the left coast Kadana canal to incur the expenditure of Rs 47.80 crores, both the projects are intended provide irrigation facilities in 80000 acres of land.

Rs.182.15 crore drinking water schemes, under the integrated water supply schemes, providing drinking water to the rural areas of Ghoghamba, Halol, Jambughoda, Godhara-rural and Godhara urban areas.

Rs 42 crore water supply scheme for Godhara town.

From the current educational year, an engineering college would start having capacity of 240 seats, capacity addition of 5000 seats for the 34 I.T.I.s.

Rs 117 crore works to be undertaken for infrastructure and public welfare projects. Chief thrust is on water supply, under ground drainage; renovations of roads, solid waste management, and Vermi-compost plant, which gets the nod from the state government.

A gas grid pipeline project for Pnachmahal district would cost of Rs. 50 crores ,which is to be undertaken in the due course of time, The CNG station to cost Rs 8 crores.
