On the morning of Saturday 3rd August 2013 Shri Narendra Modi lauded the efforts of the various well-wishers on Twitter who have been Tweeting his Tweets in different languages. He said that their efforts have touched his heart and expressed confidence that the efforts will go a long way in reaching out to the people across India. Shri Modi also urged the well-wishers Tweeting in different languages to ensure there is no error in the translation so that there is no scope for misinterpretation.

Sharing his views on Twitter Shri Modi wrote, “Glad to see my Tweets in different languages. I thank friends for creating these Twitter profiles. These efforts touched my heart.” He went on to write, “I do not understand all languages but am sure these Tweets in different languages will go a long way in reaching out to people across India.”

Urging the well-wishers to ensure the translation is error free the Chief Minister said, I would also urge friends Tweeting in various languages to ensure that there is no error in translation so that they are not misinterpreted.”

Apart from English and Hindi, Shri Modi’s Tweets can be read in languages including Gujarati, Sanskrit, Urdu, Telugu, Marathi, Bangla, Odia, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Assamese.

Shri Narendra Modi commenced his journey on Twitter back in January 2009 and since then he has emerged as one of the most popular social media personalities across India. Just recently his Twitter followers crosses the 2 million mark. From sharing updates about Gujarat, innovative development stories to sharing personal thoughts, Shri Modi has used Twitter very innovatively. Recently he also sought ideas from youngsters on Twitter for his speech in Pune, which generated a wonderful response.

B) Announcements made by Hon’ble PM:

i. Extension of OCI card facility upto 6th generation of Indian Diaspora members in Trinidad and Tobago (T&T): Earlier, this facility was available upto 4th generation of Indian Diaspora members in T&T
ii. Gifting of 2000 laptops to school students in T&T
iii. Formal handing over of agro-processing machinery (USD 1 million) to NAMDEVCO
iv. Holding of Artificial Limb Fitment Camp (poster-launch) in T&T for 50 days for 800 people
v. Under ‘Heal in India’ program specialized medical treatment will be offered in India
vi. Gift of twenty (20) Hemodialysis Units and two (02) Sea ambulances to T&T to assist in the provision of healthcare
vii. Solarisation of the headquarters of T&T’s Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs by providing rooftop photovoltaic solar panels
viii. Celebration of Geeta Mahotsav at Mahatma Gandhi Institute for Cultural Cooperation in Port of Spain, coinciding with the Geeta Mahotsav celebrations in India
ix. Training of Pandits of T&T and Caribbean region in India

T&T announced that it is joining India’s global initiatives: the Coalition of Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) and Global Biofuel Alliance (GBA).
