প্রধানমন্ত্রী শ্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী জাতীয় সমুদ্র দিবসে ভারতের গৌরবময় সামুদ্রিক ইতিহাসের কথা স্মরণ করেছেন। ভারতের অর্থনৈতিক সমৃদ্ধির পথে সামুদ্রিক ক্ষেত্রের গুরুত্বের কথা উল্লেখ করে তিনি বলেছেন, গত ৮ বছরে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার বন্দর-ভিত্তিক উন্নয়নের ওপর বিশেষ নজর দিয়েছে, যা আর্থিক বৃদ্ধি এবং আত্মনির্ভর ভারত গঠনের জন্য অপরিহার্য। তিনি আরও বলেছেন যে, কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার সমুদ্র-ভিত্তিক বাস্তুতন্ত্র এবং বৈচিত্র্য নিশ্চিত করার জন্য যথেষ্ট যত্নশীল।

একাধিক ট্যুইটে প্রধানমন্ত্রী জানিয়েছেন, “আজ জাতীয় সমুদ্র দিবসে আমাদের গৌরবময় সামুদ্রিক ইতিহাসকে স্মরণ করছি এবং ভারতের আর্থিক সমৃদ্ধির পথে সমুদ্র ক্ষেত্রের গুরুত্বের কথা তুলে ধরেছি। গত আট বছরে আমাদের সমুদ্র ভিত্তিক উন্নয়ন এক নতুন উচ্চতায় পৌঁছেছে এবং বাণিজ্য ও বাণিজ্যিক কার্যকলাপ বৃদ্ধিতে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদান রেখেছে”।

“গত আট বছরে কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার বন্দর-ভিত্তিক উন্নয়নের ওপর বিশেষ নজর দিয়েছে। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে – বন্দরের ক্ষমতা সম্প্রসারণ এবং বর্তমান ব্যবস্থাপনাকে আরও দক্ষ করে তোলা। ভারতীয় পণ্যের নতুন বাজারে প্রবেশাধিকার নিশ্চিত করতে জলপথ ব্যবহার করা হচ্ছে”।

“আমরা আর্থিক অগ্রগতির জন্য সমুদ্র ক্ষেত্রকে কাজে লাগাচ্ছি এবং আত্মনির্ভর ভারত গড়ে তুলছি, আমরা সমুদ্র-ভিত্তিক ইকো ব্যবস্থাপনা এবং বৈচিত্র্য নিশ্চিত করার জন্য যথেষ্ট যত্নশীল। এর জন্য ভারত গর্বিত”।
