Ahead of the impending Lok Sabha elections in 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a powerful rally amid a passionate welcome by the people of Patiala, Punjab. PM Modi began his address by paying rich tributes to the land of ‘Guru Tegh Bahadur.’ He said, “After the five phases of voting, the message of the people of India resonates with ‘Fir ek Baar, Modi Sarkar’.” He urged Punjab to vote for the BJP to ensure a ‘Viksit Bharat.’

Speaking on the 2024 elections, PM Modi stated, “This election is a contest between the NDA and the corrupt I.N.D.I alliance to determine India’s future.” He contrasted the two sides by saying, “On one hand, there is Modi who aims to manufacture fighter jets in India, and on the other, there is the I.N.D.I alliance that aimed to dismantle India’s nuclear arsenal.” He added that while the NDA has eliminated terrorism, enabled 25 crores to exit multidimensional poverty, and oriented India’s development towards a ‘Viksit Bharat,’ the I.N.D.I alliance has shed tears for encounters with terrorists, perpetuated generations of poverty, and turned India into a ‘Loot machine.’

Highlighting how Congress-AAP has trampled upon the spirit of Punjab, PM Modi said, “Rampant corruption and dampened industrial prospects have destroyed the state of Punjab.” He added, “Today, resource mafia, drugs mafia, and shooter gangs rule the roost in Punjab.” He criticized the state government, saying, “The state government of Punjab is debt-ridden, and its CM is only CM on paper.” PM Modi added, “Corrupt Congress and AAP are two sides of the same coin,” aiming to plunder Punjab and deprive it of any development.

Lamenting the I.N.D.I alliance for disrespecting India’s culture and development, PM Modi said, “The I.N.D.I alliance is least interested in India’s Vikas and Virasat.” He added that they delayed and boycotted the construction of the Shri Ram Mandir. He accused the alliance of having a character riddled with communalism, casteism, and dynastic politics. He said, “It was the I.N.D.I alliance’s divisive politics that caused the partition of India and kept us away from the Kartarpur Sahib for 70 years.” He praised the BJP government for commemorating ‘Veer Bal Diwas,’ bringing all Sikh brothers and sisters from Afghanistan to safety, and retrieving the ‘Holy Guru Granth Sahib.’Exposing the I.N.D.I alliance's vote-bank politics, PM Modi said, “The I.N.D.I alliance opposes the CAA owing to their vote-bank politics.” He added that for the sake of the vote bank, they aimed to prevent our Sikh brothers and sisters from coming to India after facing the horrors of partition.

“Our government has always been inspired by Sikh traditions,” said PM Modi. He added that this inspiration drives their persistent endeavor to ensure the last-mile reach of developmental benefits and to empower the deprived. He noted the government's prioritization of farmers, enabling a 2.5 times increase in MSP over the last decade. Looking ahead, he said, “In the next 5 years, we aim to make India a manufacturing hub with Punjab's contributions, and Patiala will emerge as a hub for education.”

In conclusion, PM Modi expressed his confidence in the voters of Punjab to enable the BJP to emerge victorious in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.

PM Modi to inaugurate ICA Global Cooperative Conference 2024 on 25th November
November 24, 2024
PM to launch UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025
Theme of the conference, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," aligns with the Indian Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi”

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate ICA Global Cooperative Conference 2024 and launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025 on 25th November at around 3 PM at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

ICA Global Cooperative Conference and ICA General Assembly is being organised in India for the first time in the 130 year long history of International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), the premier body for the Global Cooperative movement. The Global Conference, hosted by Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Limited (IFFCO), in collaboration with ICA and Government of India, and Indian Cooperatives AMUL and KRIBHCO will be held from 25th to 30th November.

The theme of the conference, "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," aligns with the Indian Government’s vision of “Sahkar Se Samriddhi” (Prosperity through Cooperation). The event will feature discussions, panel sessions, and workshops, addressing the challenges and opportunities faced by cooperatives worldwide in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in areas such as poverty alleviation, gender equality, and sustainable economic growth.

Prime Minister will launch the UN International Year of Cooperatives 2025, which will focus on the theme, “Cooperatives Build a Better World,” underscoring the transformative role cooperatives play in promoting social inclusion, economic empowerment, and sustainable development. The UN SDGs recognize cooperatives as crucial drivers of sustainable development, particularly in reducing inequality, promoting decent work, and alleviating poverty. The year 2025 will be a global initiative aimed at showcasing the power of cooperative enterprises in addressing the world’s most pressing challenges.

Prime Minister will also launch a commemorative postal stamp, symbolising India’s commitment to the cooperative movement. The stamp showcases a lotus, symbolising peace, strength, resilience, and growth, reflecting the cooperative values of sustainability and community development. The five petals of the lotus represent the five elements of nature (Panchatatva), highlighting cooperatives' commitment to environmental, social, and economic sustainability. The design also incorporates sectors like agriculture, dairy, fisheries, consumer cooperatives, and housing, with a drone symbolising the role of modern technology in agriculture.

Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bhutan His Excellency Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Hon’ble Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji His Excellency Manoa Kamikamica and around 3,000 delegates from over 100 countries will also be present.
