Upon his arrival at Janakpur in Nepal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers and performed ‘Puja’ at the Janaki Temple. Nepalese PM KP Sharma Oli too accompanied the Prime Minister.

Thanking PM Oli for the Janakpur visit, PM Modi said, “Today's welcome in Nepal shows the affection the people of Nepal have towards the people of India.’

Both the leaders also flagged off bus service between Janakpur and Ayodhya.

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today paid homage to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh. He remarked that the coming generations will always remember their indomitable spirit.

He wrote in a post on X:

“We pay homage to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh. The coming generations will always remember their indomitable spirit. It was indeed a dark chapter in our nation’s history. Their sacrifice became a major turning point in India’s freedom struggle.”
