Prime Minister Narendra Modi today addressed a Vikas Parv rally in Odisha’s Balasore to mark NDA Government’s two years in office.

Beginning his address, he said that the NDA Government believed in the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’. The Prime Minister remarked that he considered people’s participation was a must in all areas of governance. “Governments and people must work together”, he added further.

The Prime Minister said that the welfare of poor people must take the centre stage in formation of Government policies. Adding furthermore, Shri Modi mentioned that development needed to be all round and no part of the country shall be left out of the development journey. He stated that Government of India was focused and was giving priority to develop Eastern India. Considering Odisha, the PM said, “Odisha is a state blessed with natural resources and a coastline. But still lot more needs to be done to mitigate poverty.”

Shri Narendra Modi spoke about gender equality and said that mindset about the girl child in the country must change. The PM added, “When it comes to gender equality, many mindsets are like those that prevailed in 18th century. It must change. Daughters are our pride. We have initiated Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao movement to encourage birth of girl child.” PM Modi also highlighted how Government constructed separate rest-rooms for the girl students in several schools across India. “Dropout rates among girl students worried me. That is why toilet constitution in schools was initiated at a large scale by our Government”, said the PM.

Shri Modi said that children across the country must receive good education as well as stay healthy too. He shed light on Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Mission Indradhanush that were bringing about a change at the grassroots.

The Prime Minister spoke about Government’s progress in rural electrification of villages that did not have power since independence. “Over 18000 villages of the country lived in darkness for years since independence. We have taken up the task to electrify those villages in mission mode. Now we are not only powering them but also empowering them”, he added.

Speaking about the Mudra Yojana, the PM quoted how it has benefited over 3.5 crore budding entrepreneurs across the length and breadth of the country. Shri Narendra Modi spoke about how Start-up India and Stand-up India schemes were benefiting the youth. PM Narendra Modi also shed light on Ujjwala Yojana that aimed to provide free of cost gas connections to five crore women belonging to below poverty line households.

PM to participate in ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ on 24 November

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ programme on 24 November at around 5:30 PM at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

Odisha Parba is a flagship event conducted by Odia Samaj, a trust in New Delhi. Through it, they have been engaged in providing valuable support towards preservation and promotion of Odia heritage. Continuing with the tradition, this year Odisha Parba is being organised from 22nd to 24th November. It will showcase the rich heritage of Odisha displaying colourful cultural forms and will exhibit the vibrant social, cultural and political ethos of the State. A National Seminar or Conclave led by prominent experts and distinguished professionals across various domains will also be conducted.
