Prime Minister Modi ended his jam-packed day with another major rally in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu today.

Highlighting the significance that the upcoming General elections hold for the future of India, PM Modi said, “The upcoming elections are a contest between the ‘people-centric’ work of the NDA against the ‘anti-people’ agenda of the Opposition parties. The choice is between NDA’s commitment for a stable government versus the Opposition’s desire for an unstable government just so they can enjoy the spoils of power.”

Describing the achievements of the NDA government across various spheres of life during the last five years, PM Modi said, “The NDA government at the Centre has governed with the mantra of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ to ensure equitable development for all. We have also made national security our topmost priority to protect our strategic interests. However, it is sad that the Opposition parties have no plan on the issue of national security. It was their soft attitude against terrorists that made millions of Indians vulnerable to terrorist attacks. But the India of today is different. It no longer tolerates attacks against it and everyone knows that if someone dares to attack India, they will get a strong response in return. This India pays back in the same coins and that too with compounded interest.”

Shri Modi also spoke about the great Tamil language and culture and said that the state of Tamil Nadu holds much significance to the progress of rest of India. Citing the recent decision of the government to operationalise a modern defence corridor in Tamil Nadu, PM Modi said, “The state of Tamil Nadu is of great importance to the NDA’s growth and governance strategy and I am glad that the defence corridor to be established in Tamil Nadu will create job opportunities for the local youth as well as strengthen India’s defence capabilities.”
