The middle class is a partner of the government in empowering the poorest sections of society: PM Modi in Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed his third major public meeting for the day in the Maharashtrian capital Mumbai today.

Addressing the overwhelming crowd of supporters, PM Modi said, “These Lok Sabha elections are not only to elect a government, these elections will also decide the future direction for our nation. This is an election that will decide what kind of governance the people of our country want to have, one with a firm resolve and vision or one with only tall promises in its lap.”

Lambasting the dynastic politics of the Congress and its allies in the Mahamilawat, Prime Minister Modi said, “The youth of our country is no longer interested in the archaic dynastic politics of the Congress that venerates leaders just because they belong to a certain family. This is the digital generation which wants to achieve its dreams and needs a government that can understand and fulfill its aspirations in the 21st century. It is no surprise that the Congress and its allies do not have people’s support anymore as their divisive politics does not resonate with country’s aspirational citizens.”

On this occassion, Prime Minister Modi also highlighted some of the major achievements of his government in lifting people out of poverty and improving their quality of life by providing them universal access to basic services like electricity, sanitation and cooking gas. He further thanked the middle class people for their honest efforts for the nation’s progress and said that the middle class is a partner of the government in empowering the poorest sections of society.
