NDA’s Prime Ministerial candidate Shri Narendra Modi filed his nomination papers from Vadodara Lok Sabha Constituency in Gujarat, on the morning of 9th April.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Modi called Vadodara his ‘Karmabhoomi’ and recalled his early days spent in the city as an organization worker. He spoke of how he had begun by serving in Saurashtra, thereafter in North Gujarat and now in Central Gujarat. Shri Modi expressed happiness on being given the opportunity by the BJP Party to serve the city, and assured the people of good governance under his term.

Shri Modi also recollected his childhood days when he lived in his birthplace Vadnagar and pursued his primary education from a school run by the Gaekwads. He stated how Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad’s emphasis on education, especially girl child education, and aspects of irrigation and good governance, were significant in the development of Vadodara.

Shri Modi acknowledged the warm welcome given by the people of Vadodara and urged them to turn out in large numbers on April 30 and show their support for BJP by voting for the Lotus.

Before filing his nomination papers, Shri Modi had also held the ‘Vijay Vishwas rally’ in the city, which started from the Kirti Stambh and culminated at the collector’s office.

Top Ministers, BJP leaders and Karyakartas in large numbers were present during the occasion.

PM Modi visits the Indian Arrival Monument
November 21, 2024

Prime Minister visited the Indian Arrival monument at Monument Gardens in Georgetown today. He was accompanied by PM of Guyana Brig (Retd) Mark Phillips. An ensemble of Tassa Drums welcomed Prime Minister as he paid floral tribute at the Arrival Monument. Paying homage at the monument, Prime Minister recalled the struggle and sacrifices of Indian diaspora and their pivotal contribution to preserving and promoting Indian culture and tradition in Guyana. He planted a Bel Patra sapling at the monument.

The monument is a replica of the first ship which arrived in Guyana in 1838 bringing indentured migrants from India. It was gifted by India to the people of Guyana in 1991.
