Somnath Temple Trust to complete ‘Ratnakar Coast evelopment Project’ by March 2012

Gandhinagar, Friday: The Somnath Trust at its meeting in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi with Mr. Keshubhai Patel in chair here today took several important decisions, including completing the ‘Ratnakar Coast Development Project’ with State Government grants by March 2012 as well repairing the embankment wall of the temple overlooking the Arabian Sea.

The other decisions to develop the Somnath temple premises as a religious-cum-tourist centre befitting the faith of Hindus include modernization of the road from Somnath Shankh Circle to Golokdham Premises being undertaken by Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board and completing early the Goshala Project.

Other projects on hand include protecting ancient caves around the temple premises, museum, cultural heritage project, Golokdham, Lord Krishna Dehotsarg Teerth, Triveni Sangam, Shiv-Shristi, Parvati Mandir, Krishna Children’s Playground, drinking water and sewage disposal management, as well as transferring the Toran Hotel building to a Trust.

The meeting placed on record the long services of secretary Prasannavdan Mehta on his decision for voluntary retirement. Mr. Pravinbhai Laheri was unanimously elected secretary in his place. Mr. Keshubhai Patel was unanimously elected chairman for the next year. Appointment of Padmashri Harsh Neotia by Government of India as a trustee was announced.

Others present included trustee J.D. Parmar and general manager Kamlesh Raval.

PM to participate in ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ on 24 November

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will participate in the ‘Odisha Parba 2024’ programme on 24 November at around 5:30 PM at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi. He will also address the gathering on the occasion.

Odisha Parba is a flagship event conducted by Odia Samaj, a trust in New Delhi. Through it, they have been engaged in providing valuable support towards preservation and promotion of Odia heritage. Continuing with the tradition, this year Odisha Parba is being organised from 22nd to 24th November. It will showcase the rich heritage of Odisha displaying colourful cultural forms and will exhibit the vibrant social, cultural and political ethos of the State. A National Seminar or Conclave led by prominent experts and distinguished professionals across various domains will also be conducted.
