Mission Sadbhavana – Spreading the light of peace & harmony to millions of people!
Dwarka ( Gujarat), Sunday: Gujarat Chief Minister today described the Sadbhavna Mission he had launched for unity, harmony and peace as the highest form of strength, the support of six-crore Gujaratis serving as the biggest certificate for the mission.Ending his day-long fast as part of the second phase of district-wise Sadbhavna Mission at Dwarka, he said he would undertake similar fast in all the 26 districts and seven cities as a tapasya to bridge people for unity, harmony and peace.
Thanking a large number of people who had gathered at the venue of his fast since morning, Mr. Modi said that young and old, men and women, heads of different sects and representatives of innumerous organizations lent extra strength to his mission by joining him during the fast. The fast has washed away all invectives and untruths being spread by vested interests against Gujarat.
He said that for the last eight years some people showered barrage of lies and wondered as to why he maintained silence. The mission has silenced them.
“I have to serve the people. I have to move a head with the mantra of sadbhavna, taking the people along, for everybody's welfare. The mission would not showcase the true face of Gujarat to the country,” he sa id.
The Chief Minister s aid that in a democracy the people have the right to ask and my work will speak. He said that a record six lakh people had joined his r ally in Ahmedabad and there was pressure form Delhi not to give publicity to the event. The people replied to the criticism, he said.
He said that ingredient of sadbhavna is ingrained in the Gujarati community as thousands of doctor help expecting mothers free-of-cost. Under the Chiranjivi Yojna, 95 per cent of deliveries take place in institutional maternity homes. The sadbhavna was in vogue in Gujarat for the last ten years; the mission is creating just awareness about it.
Explaining further, Mr. Modi said Sadbhavna leads to Samvedna. Just as pain in any part of the body hurts a person, he said, pain of any section of the society hurts the entire society. He reiterated his pledge to serve all sections of the society through Sadbhvana Mission, spending the last penny of the treasury in the public interest.

Dwarka (Gujarat), Sunday: Describing the second phase of district-wise Sadbhavna Mission starting from this pious land of Lord Krishna, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi today asked the people to stay away from the separatist forces and join the forces uniting the nation through peace and harmony.Mr. Modi, who began his fast this morning amidst a large number of sants, religious heads and people, said his message of truth through fasting would reach every nook and corner of the nation. There is no reason why the nation could not attain the heights Gujarat has reached through these ideals.
He recalled that ages before Adi Shankaracharya had sent his message for Sadbhavna. It is this land where Dwarkadheesh Krishna embraced Sudama as his friend, linking the king and the subjects with the same thread. Mohak Singh was the son of the soil as Guru Govind Singh also preached the Sikh traditions from here.
The Chief Minister said that Gujarat does not expect anything from others. It reaches people in distress due to natural disaster anywhere in India or abroad, and yet some vested interests are bent on maligning Gujarat. It is a yajna for truth and would wipe out the untruth. Gujarat has reached a stage where it is immaterial to enter into debate. The credit goes to all the six crore people of Gujarat and not just the Chief Minister.
People look at the progress of Gujarat through different angles, but everybody has to accept that Gujarat has become the model of growth for every state in the country. In the past, leaders tried to divide the people for vote bank. Lathi charge and curfew used to be common phenomenon. The Sadbhavna Mission rises above all petty considerations, Mr Modi said.
The Chief Minister inaugurated an exhibition on “A Decade of Development”, displaying among other exhibits and publications books written by him and on him.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were District Guardian Minister Saurabh Patel, legislators Pabubha Manek, Collector, Range IG Police and other officers.
