PM Modi inaugurated the Surat Diamond Bourse today in Surat, Gujarat. It is not an ordinary diamond, but the best in the world, PM Modi said underlining that the radiance of the Surat Diamond Bourse is overshadowing the largest of edifices in the world. He said that Surat Diamond Bourse showcases the abilities of Indian designs, designers, materials and concepts. PM Narendra Modi addressed the International Diamond Conference. The PM said his aim was to make India an international diamond cutting and trading hub. Speaking about the Special Notified Zone, the PM said, “Earlier 80-90 merchants got access to global rough diamonds. Now 3000 merchants have this privilege.” The PM urged the members of the industry to ensure that every one of them be enrolled in the Government’s low cost social security schemes.
