Viksit Bharat Ambassador Campus Dialogue, Chennai at VELS University

The Viksit Bharat Ambassador Campus Dialogue was held at VELS University in Chennai. Over 1,000 students from diverse backgrounds and more than 20 entrepreneurs, professionals, and actors from the city attended the event. Notable attendees included representatives from FICCI, FLO, EO, and YPO.

The chief guest, Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman delivered a keynote address highlighting the crucial role of the Viksit Bharat Ambassador initiative in propelling India towards the status of a developed nation by 2047, a vision aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

FM Sitharaman emphasized India's remarkable progress across various sectors, showcasing the country's resilience during the COVID-19 pandemic through scientific advancements and successful vaccination drives. She praised the efficiency of Indian scientists and healthcare professionals, a testament to the nation's capabilities under proactive governance.

A notable highlight of the event was FM Sitharaman's emphasis on the New Education Policy, promoting interdisciplinary learning and skill development. The Finance Minister also lauded India's digital transformation under the 'Digital India' initiative, noting a staggering 43 crore digital transactions per month without service charges.

Addressing the gathering, FM Sitharaman commended India's strides in manufacturing, particularly in mobile phones for domestic consumption and export. She credited government schemes like Production Linked Incentives (PLI) for driving investments in critical sectors such as renewable energy, space exploration, and research and development.

FM Sitharaman's insights extended to empowering women in politics and public service. Encouraging young women to engage in public works and community initiatives, she highlighted the importance of staying connected with one's roots and contributing meaningfully to societal progress.

The Viksit Bharat Ambassador movement aims to encourage citizens to take responsibility for contributing to India's development. VBA meet-ups and events are being organized in various parts of the country to achieve this goal. First such instance that a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will attend the Christmas Celebrations hosted by the Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) at the CBCI Centre premises, New Delhi at 6:30 PM on 23rd December.

Prime Minister will interact with key leaders from the Christian community, including Cardinals, Bishops and prominent lay leaders of the Church.

This is the first time a Prime Minister will attend such a programme at the Headquarters of the Catholic Church in India.

Catholic Bishops' Conference of India (CBCI) was established in 1944 and is the body which works closest with all the Catholics across India.
